Cheque Calculator & Hours Log

Everything below is for the employer picked on the Settings tab. Rates step on the agreement's own dates and the calculator uses the column in force for the week you're looking at. Hours are your hours on site, breaks included, the way the agreement's overtime rules count them.

• Filling in as foreperson: set that day's role under the date. Each day's hours are paid at that day's rate; overtime follows the same day rules.
• Holidays are built in for your agreement and moved to the day they're observed. Untick Stat to switch one off, or tick it for a day your job observes instead.
• CPP and EI (2026): CPP 5.95% after a $67.31 weekly exemption until $4,230.45 for the year, then the second CPP at 4% on earnings between $74,600 and $85,000. EI 1.63% until $1,123.07. Quebec: QPP 6.3% to $4,479.30, EI 1.30% to $895.70, QPIP 0.43% to $442.90. The log counts these up week by week, separately for each employer.
• Income tax uses the 2026 federal and provincial payroll formulas (CRA T4127, July 2026 edition) the way payroll does: the week's pay times 52, union dues taken off first, with each province's extras (BC tax reduction, Ontario surtax and health premium, Quebec abatement). Real cheques usually land within a few dollars. Quebec provincial tax is an approximation of the Revenu Québec formula.
• Living-out allowance and travel are reimbursements. They're normally tax-free when you file a TD4 with your employer, and they don't get vacation or holiday pay. Tick "This employer pays living-out" on the Settings tab and new days you log will have LOA on.

Not included: Manitoba (Local 728's last public rates ended April 2025) and Prince Edward Island (no agreement is public); Ontario locals other than 721 Toronto (700, 736, 759, 765, 786), the Ontario ICI and rodmen 2025 and 2027 wage steps (only the 2026 sheet is printed) and the Darlington/Pickering EPSCA rates; BC's 2026 renewal (rates stop at May 4 2025); weekly flat union dues in Quebec (spread over 40 h), dues that differ by class or by year (the journeyperson figure is used), equipment allowances, the 8-for-7½ shift pay rules, third-shift premiums above the second-shift figure, the Quebec evening rate on overtime hours, Quebec shut-down overtime without the time-and-a-half hour, the 50-hour Friday limit on Nova Scotia 4×10s, Friday holidays moved to Thursday on 4×10s, St. Patrick's Day in Newfoundland (tick Stat), travel time and mileage, the 20-and-8, 14-and-7 and other competitive schedules, call-outs and show-up pay, the 12-hour turnaround shift paid as a flat 12 h, the camp $20 meal rule, the structural Christmas-on-a-weekend move and the fixed in-town observed days for 2027–28 (tick Stat on the day your employer observes), a general foreperson rate where none is printed (use Custom rate), the pensioner wage for members 71 and over, monthly dues where the local doesn't publish them and the Alberta Dues Supplement (enter them from your stub), rebar glove deductions, and GPMA long-service vacation above 6%. Employer pension, health, apprenticeship, IMPACT and TIF contributions aren't on your cheque; the Alberta and Quebec pension parts are shown as a memo line under the cheque and on the Year tab.

Your hours, pay, employers and settings stay on this phone. There's no account and no sign-in, and we never see your log.

What we do receive:

• When you open the app: an anonymous count. It includes a random number your phone makes up, the phone type, your province, and which poster, QR code or link brought you here. It can't identify you.
• If you buy a key: your email, passed to us by Stripe and kept with your key so we can find it if you lose it. Stripe handles your card, and we never see the number.
• When you turn on a key: your phone's random number, so one key works on up to three phones.
• If you use the feedback box: your message, your email if you give it, the agreement you had selected, and your phone's browser type.

We don't sell or share any of it, and there are no ads or tracking scripts. The site is hosted by Cloudflare and payments go through Stripe. They see what any web host or card processor sees.
